Founded In 1881

The oldest bowling club in Sussex and one of the friendliest too. You'll find us tucked away in the beautiful surrounding of Priory Park, where we're proud to be a relaxed, inclusive mixed club.

Whether you've been bowling for years and are looking for years and are looking for a new club to call home, or you've never picked up a bowl before and just fancy trying something different, you'll fit right in here.We're all about friendly competition, a strong sense of community and keeping the traditions of the game alive - without taking ourselves too seriously.

New to bowling? Give it a go

Start something new can feel a bit daunting, but lawn bowls is surprisingly easy to pick up. The rules are straightforward, the technique feels natural, and honestly, your very first bowl could be just as good as anyone else's.

We run regular "Give it a go" taster sessions with free instruction, no pressure and no commitment. They're designed to let you try the game, ask questions, and see if it's for you. Our 2026 taster dates are:

Sunday 10th May - 14:00 to 17:00

Saturday 13th June - 11:00 to 16:00

Saturday 27th June - 11:00 to 16:00

Friday 17th July - 18:00 to 20:00

To make getting started even easier, we also offer a reduced membership rate for your first year.
